CNE Drachmae Market: Moldova’s Cryptocurrency Exchange?
Finally, there’s hope for cryptocurrency investors from the Republic of Moldova to be part of the growing population who use Blockchain technology for innovation, transparency and investment. CNE Drachmae Market is dubbed the first crypto exchange platform in Moldova, though its existence is subject to some controversies.
Visiting the most vibrant Cryptocurrencies forum, Bitcointalk, to determining what those who’ve used it had to say, it is quite unclear whether CNE Drachmae Market is real or another scam. Before any Moldovan starts to celebrate, therefore, it is worthy to help discuss if CNE Drachmae Market is trustworthy or not.
Understanding the Genesis of CNE Drachmae Market
In all honesty, everything appears creepy about this first crypto exchange market’s website. At the various online discussion forums, there seems to be scanty information regarding it too. Maybe this is because it’s users are Greek and nobody bothered to offer a translation to English speakers. But all the same, let’s go back to 2015 during the Grexit debate and later in 2016.
In 2015, the Drachmae Project was trying to uncover the best way of using the blockchain technology amid the Grexit debate. Finally, in 2016, it had settled for a project that would disrupt the travel sector. Lee Gibson Grant, an Englishman, was the project’s leader.
They first created Drachmae Money, a multi-currency wallet, before later adding SMS and NFC interfaces. The project’s leaders, while testing the portfolio on Greece’s Agistri Island, discovered a way in which Drachmae Money was to build services oriented to human behavior.
This gave rise to the use of NXT blockchain and the subsequent crowdsale to raise funds for its development. Three Membership plans the ICO of the native token (DT Token) helped raise funds that were to be used in supporting the development of a “Travel App” that most expected to be useful as it was supposed to be linked to a branded prepaid card.
That was the start of it appearing like a scam project. It’s project leader embarked on a trip from the UK allegedly to visit refugee camps and talk to different people and Organizations in Calais before going to Italy, Greece and finally Germany. Shockingly, that was the last time hearing from him!
“Announcement of Progress and future roadmap,” was the title of a thread on the forum while announcing his emergence!
In a letter, allegedly from the governor of National Bank of Moldova Sergiu CIOCLEA to Lee Gibson Grant, and posted on the Bitcointalk forum, he’s trying to suggest that he had been granted permission to establish CNE Drachmae Market in Moldova. It is quite a long piece, but Grant later makes a twist to the original DT Tokens.
He decided to ban DT Tokens, replaced (rebranded) them as DTMI and had it listed on www.c-cex.com and www.bittrex.com. Swapping, he said, was to be done only at https://cne.drachmae.market/login.php wallets and www.c-cex.com.
In short, original investors lost their funds!
Questions Emerged:
- Why choose https://c-cex.com/?p=draco-btc – a scam exchange.
- Choosing NXT Blockchain was questionable.
- This project’s leader talking rudely while responding to questions on the platform.
A bit About CNE Drachmae Market’s portal
