Crypto Twitter was on September 19th, 2019 bested by a brand account in a game that it is quite familiar with. The brand account trolled it by providing it with misleading instructions asking it to go all-in on digital assets.

Earlier that day, the Twitter handle belonging to Electronic Arts had sent out a tweet telling the masses to invest in digital assets. The tweet was unprompted and was favorited by more than ten thousand users on the platform. It was also retweeted more than four thousand times.

Many Twitter users actually believed that the account in question had been accessed illegally.

Electronic Arts

The brand is renowned for producing action games such as FIFA and Madden. It turns out that the tweet sent out by the company was, in fact, a well-calculated marketing stunt. The stunt was aimed at helping the firm to introduce a new character in one of its games referred to as Apex Legends Season 3: Meltdown!

According to Electronic Arts, the character is due for release later this year in the month of October and will be known as ‘Crypto’. The term, in this case, will be used to refer to old-fashioned crypto as opposed to the Satoshi white papers.

In a conversation that it apparently had with itself, the @EAAccess handle is seen asking why it was doing this, as it could end up disappointing its father. To this, it replied that the father was already used to being disappointed.

Sadly, it was the crypto enthusiasts that ended up being disappointed, and not the ‘father’.

Bitcoin Revolution| How the Tweet from Electronic Arts Helped Boost the Crypto Market

The tweet from Electronic Arts which was meant to promote an upcoming character in one of its game prompted various responses from renowned HODLers and crypto exchanges.

While some sought to welcome them, others took this opportunity to engage in crypto-related debates pertaining to the longevity of various ventures.

Taking into account the fact that the brand has a global market, its simple, yet highly-efficient tweet can help trigger mass adoption. According to some crypto experts, the declaration from Electronic Arts was instrumental in some way as it helped Litecoin bounce back into the green zone.
